Whole body approach to TMJ
Studies shows that TMJ (jaw) pain may be associated with tension and imbalances in other regions of the body - including the hips, diaphragm and feet - via the fascial network, which is a web of tissue that links everything together.
We start the session by massaging the back, then hips/gluteal area (through the towel) to release fundamental tension. After that, we address the feet (through the towel). Then, we concentrate on scalp, occipital, shoulders and face. Final step is a buccal (intraoral) massage, which means working inside the mouth to ease tight jaw muscles and help with TMJ pain and mobility.
